Shots Fired At ICE Office

Early Tuesday morning, shots were fired at the San Antonio, Texas ICE office and a GEO office. The FBI has called this a “targeted attack” on ICE.

FBI Special Agent in Charge Chris Combs stated,

“All of the shots that we have found are on the floors where ICE had offices. This is no question a very targeted attack. It’s not a secret facility, you can go online, it’s out (the address) there. So they did some research, they knew what floors ICE was on, they knew what buildings they were and they hit those.”

On Wednesday, Department of Homeland Security Acting Secretary Kevin McAleenan said, in regards to the heightened anti-ICE rhetoric,

“The environment where we’re demonizing our law enforcement for doing their jobs and enforcing the law on the books is concerning. It can be dangerous and it can result in people taking action that are not supported by facts that are not in response to anything inappropriate that the men and women of ICE are doing and we’ve got to tone that down.”

This shooting comes after a group of pro-open borders protesters were threatening employees of the GEO Group in Florida. The GEO group is government contracted to help provide facility space for immigrants when ICE detains border crossers.

According to video provided by Breitbart News, one protester was threatening GEO’s former general counsel John Bulfin, exclaiming,

“We know where all your children live throughout the country … John Bulfin you have kids in (censored), you have kids in (censored). We know everything about you and you wont just be seeing us here.”

Another protester shouted, “We know where you sleep at night”, while another protester yelled, “We’re not actually joking, John Bulfin you go to (censored), you go to church on (censored) you live on (censored) road. We are not joking.”

The protesters are parts of numerous different activist groups including, Never Again Action, Miramar Circle of Protection Friends of Miami-Dade Detainees, Food Not Bombs Fort Lauderdale, Students Working for Equal Rights, and Black Lives Matter Alliance of Broward County.

GEO Group VP of Corporate Relations Pablo Paez said to Breitbart News,

“These are politically motivated attacks. We have been a services provider to the federal government for over 30 years. The fact is that the services we provide in our facilities today are no way different than the high quality, professional services under the same standards that we provided for eight years under President Obama’s administration. So where was the outrage then?”

All people must be allowed to have their political opinion and voice it in protest of the government. The problem here is that they are threatening third party companies and individuals along with their families to try and get their point across. Violence is unacceptable in the political realm, only logic and reason should prevail.

Our question to the protesters is, why are you protesting ICE, who enforces laws made by Congress, rather than protesting Congress for their inaction on providing new legislation? Why not place the blame where the blame is due, and demand action from our representatives?
